This is dance that suspends our sense of time. The dancers circle around each other in all possible ways, sinking into spirals and spinning themselves and their partners in a free flow of soft, gentle movement. Guy Nader and Maria Campos engage with the concept of time, delaying and accelerating it through their choreography and challenging our habitual perception. The almost hypnotic mix of contemporary style and calm acrobatics evokes associations with hip-hop and martial arts. It becomes a symbol of the repetitive nature of life and at the same time shows how much a new dynamic can change the images. “Set of Sets” constantly challenges gravity, throwing or tilting the dancers into the horizontal plane and leaving them suspended in the air at the limits of physical possibility. Drawn into the maelstrom by the captivating live music of percussionist Miguel Marín, at some point even the shadows on the wall begin to dance... The Spaniard Maria Campos and the Lebanese Guy Nader work with their company in Barcelona; in 2017 the two choreographers were awarded the German theater prize Der Faust for a world premiere at the Staatstheater Mainz.
