Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart: Meet the Talents

Meet the Talents is a format ideally suited to the festival concept. For this section of the festival Eric Gauthier commissions a number of promising young choreographers to create short pieces for the Theaterhaus company. Rehearsals take place in the second week of the festival, in the Gauthier Dance ballet studio and in the gymnasium. Everyone who is interested is more than welcome to observe the creative process. In the concluding week of the festival the new pieces will be presented in the gymnasium in the early evening. Eric Gauthier will act as the master of ceremonies and introduce the choreographers in short interviews. Previous versions of this event have been enthusiastically greeted by both artists and audience. This latest version features Arianna Benedetti (Italy), Eyal Dadon (Israel), Valerio Longo (Italy) and Norge Cedeño (Cuba). They are joined by two old acquaintances of Gauthier Dance, Floating Flowers choreographer Po-Cheng Tsai (Taiwan) and Nadav Zelner (Israel), whose contribution in 2017 to the COLOURS trailer Alte Zachen and Meet the Talents was so impressive that Eric Gauthier immediately engaged him to devise a full-length work. The result, BULLSHIT, was – despite or because of its cheeky title – a huge hit with the public.
