Through hip hop to the award winner in avant-garde choreography: Muhammed Kaltuk is the shooting star of contemporary “urban” dance, his style the authentic dance language of a young, activist generation. He brings Breaking from virtuoso battle and club culture to the stage, brings the various realities of young people into the theater in the infinitely diverse forms of street dance, shows the rage of protests and the powerlessness of the lack of a voice. Father Politics unmasks the swaggering poses of the slick stars of politics, putting a spotlight on the abyss between smiling facade and inner corruption, the definition of people solely by their appearance, and the new rabble-rousing against everything foreign. The Swiss choreographer with Turkish roots and his very young company, shaped by their different backgrounds, emphasize diversity. They expose the falsified truths, the polarizing opinion-making of the “politics of the fathers” – often with an ironic undertone, but also in extreme scenes of exhaustion and fear. To a soundtrack of rap and protest songs, the dance develops powerful images and quivers with the energy of a generation fighting back.

„In an ecstatic round dance combining powerful, skilful solos with the concentrated energy of perfectly synchronized group elements, the company unmasks patterns of political thought with virtuoso dance.“ – BZ Basel
