Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart: Meet the Talents

Five world premieres

A new way of encountering “young choreographers”! These talents are already on their way to international renown and the COLOURS Festival is offering an opportunity to watch them at work as they create a short piece for Gauthier Dance in only a few days. Shahar Biniamini spent a number of years working with the Batsheva Company in Israel and is well acquainted with Ohad Naharin’s Gaga idiom. Guillaume Côté, one of the stars of National Ballet of Canada, recently choreographed his first narrative ballet in Toronto. Local talent Guillaume Hulot, ballet master with Gauthier Dance, has created works for the Mainz Ballet “Young Performers” programme, in Mannheim and for the Stuttgart Ballet. Giuseppe Spota, formerly a celebrated dancer with Gauthier Dance, returns to the Theaterhaus Stuttgart following successful premieres with Aterballetto, in Wiesbaden, Mainz and Ulm. Nadav Zelner works on experimental dance with Israel’s most important dance company, classical dance with the Jerusalem Ballet and jazz dance for musicals. How do they convey their ideas and interact with their dancers? Colours offers the opportunity to observe all of them developing works, which will be presented by Eric Gauthier in the last week of the festival.

Choreographies: Guillaume Côté (Canada), Giuseppe Spota (Italy/Germany), Shahar Biniamini (Israel), Nadav Zelner (Israel), Guillaume Hulot (France/Germany)
